Hi there!

I’m Athira, a psychologist based in Bangalore specialising in Individual & Couples therapy. What truly defines my practice isn’t just theory or technique; it's my lived experience. I’ve been on my own healing journey, navigating through anxiety, and these experiences have profoundly shaped how I connect with my clients. I don’t just understand mental health from a textbook, but from personal battles that have deepened my empathy and enriched my ability to guide others.

On a personal note, I’m mom to a curious toddler, so I know the fine art of juggling life, work, and the never-ending mountain of laundry. When I’m not in therapist mode, you’ll find me reading, creating art, or convincing my toddler that nap-time is a good idea. Life’s a balancing act, but I believe that with the right support, we can all thrive no matter what life throws our way!

My Approach

My therapeutic approach is integrative because I firmly believe that every individual is unique and deserves personalised care. I recognise that no single therapeutic model works for everyone, so I draw from various psychological approaches to create a treatment plan that is tailored to each client’s specific needs, goals, and circumstances.

While I adapt my methods to the person in front of me, my formal training is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and the Developmental Model of couples therapy. I also take a trauma-informed approach, ensuring that our work together is sensitive to the impact of past experiences while empowering clients to heal and grow at their own pace. This flexibility allows me to meet clients where they are and provide the support they need to make meaningful, lasting changes
